The Peace Series

“The Peace Series” is a silent auction showcasing artwork by artists from Toronto and around the world, that focus on the theme of Peace. The reason why all these artists have come together is to help support The Namuwongo Project in Uganda. The NP aims to provide literacy opportunities for children in the slum of Namuwongo, in the outskirts of Kampala, who would otherwise receive no formal schooling whatsoever. At the present time the NP services 15 children, aged 5 years to 8 years and is designed to give the children an introduction to reading, writing, speaking, listening, writing and numeracy, and provides one snack and one meal per day.

Toronto’s own Paul Leli sent us a sneak peek of his work which will be up for auction this Wednesday, June 9th at the Steam Whistle Brewery (255 Bremner Blvd.), from 7:30-10:30pm.
