The Dubbeldam Design Architects converted this small, dark 1920s duplex into a large unlikely loft space. Even though the renovation was drastic, the designers managed to maintain the integrity of the buildings historic exterior. The Walmer Loft is situated near Toronto landmark – Casa Loma Stables, and acts as a reminder of how Toronto’s historic homes can be revived for modern day living.

Lofts are bananas and this one def falls into the upper echelon… maybe its just the crazy chairs that had me buggin
It’d be an inspirational spot to think at with those ceilings!

I love modern homes! this design is sick..property value around that area is good too.

  5. Neel_Joshi says:

This project saddens me more than inspires (given how young TO is, the city only has a limited number of older homes). It now looks like 1000’s of other lofts except for it’s “novelty” of being built within the shell of a 1920’s home . It would have been nicer imho if they preserved some of the original interior elements but to each his own.

i too have mixed feelings. i really think its dope but understand the importance of preservation and restoration.

all in all its a job well done. Brock if you buy it ill be your roommate

  7. Anna says:

Love it! I’m in school for Interior Design & Architecture and creative projects like these make my mind go a thousand miles a minute with ideas and inspiration..And keeping the exterior as a traditional style creates a perfect balance with the interior.

  8. Dj Remedy says:

Great Re-life, to a old home, does take away from the natural concept of the foundation but if I had to get it done then this would be it Great job!

  9. Neel has a point but they did a pretty good, albeit also a tad generic, job nonetheless….
