the bubble we all feel right now, is a direct result.
    we got next :)

    … more times ;)

  6. Ultimate Shuffler aka JLOWE says:

I love TO for the simple fact, that in the screwface capital of Canada there remains a minority voice (for now) that both inspires and calls out the city to unite. 1LOVETO and all those who developed it, showcase that people from varying ethnicities, careers, religions etc. CAN UNITE to want more from its city and its people. There is more than just partying, good times, REMIX etc. However all of these things contribute to create a new culture and voice to push the limits and capabilities of all those that it encounters.
1LOVE to those who inspire and unite.

  7. Kid Mercury says:

I luv tdot cause its a place where i can fulfill my dreams and it over such as diverse place. It is one of the only places where countries of different nationalities can bond and form a niche market.I luv tdot because its different , there is not other street like queen street anywhere in the world and the stuff u can find on that street is so unique that no one can replicate it .Tdot also has it’s own unique style and culture which help to separate us from the world.

  8. I luv Lola says:

  12. Lokz says:

I love TO because of the challenge of getting out there as an artist. I love it. If everything was easy it wouldn’t be as fun, and I wouldn’t have experienced all the obstacles I had experienced growing up in Toronto and probably wouldn’t have tried to perfect my craft as much as I had. I also wouldn’t have gotten to witness and be a part of how much Toronto has grown and come together since the day I was born. We are well on our way.

    - Yuri ‘Lokz’ Koller

  13. Martin Sison says:

Toronto is my home proud to say I am a Torontonian.

Loving the site Brock and T-Rexx!!!!

  14. Laura Anne says:

it IS about time Toronto is celebrated for all it encompasses…
at first thought, it is natural for one to frown on those hidden secrets of the city they reside in.
one can quickly and easily point to a variety of reasons their city is NOT the greatest.
and while the imperfections may exist, every time i leave this damn city…i undoubtedly realize how much i love Toronto.
we quickly forget what we DO have, what we CAN celebrate…even along side all it’s imperfections…
though small in comparison to cities south of the border, Toronto remains unique in adventure, people, and experiences…
it is the one city you can step into and encounter, learn from, and understand probably any culture in the world…
with a wealth of variety, with distinct people, and an eclectic mix of EVERYthing from EVERYwhere…
no matter where you come from, or where your parents were born, we all remain richly rooted in our heritage…it is all those colors that create the rainbow that IS Toronto.
we should always remain humble to this great city that surrounds us…..ALL of us….in 1 LOVE.

    1.
    love.

  15. wristpect says:

Nice.. This is a great concept and platform to unite the city of Toronto, and showcase everything that it has to offer.. I support the movement! Let me know what you guys need from my end.

Oh, and to answer the question… Hmm.. Diversity in Talent, Music, Art etc., Sense of Community, Architecture, Culture and Food are a few of the reasons as to why I feel this is one of the greatest cities in the world!

  16. Trey says:

Some people say they love Toronto because it’s all they know. It ain’t all I know… and I’m still in love.

I fell in love when I took my first breath in Mount Sinai Hospital. Since then, I have travelled to many countries and though I have been happy to leave the city to experience other worlds, I’d fall in love again every time I return. I’ve travelled to India, China, Italy, and the States. Not everyone can have the opportunity to travel to these places but they most definitely have the opportunity within Toronto. For example, a piece of India can be experienced at Gerrard’s India Bazaar where you can find the largest showcase of South Asian goods in North America and it’s people. You can also experience a bit of China in the various Chinatowns all over Toronto (we don’t just have one!) and Italy in beautiful, quaint Little Italy. It’s the fact that:
Every time I return to Toronto, I would still see a piece of the country I was returning from. And more.

They say, you won’t know home anymore once you leave your homeland.
I say, you won’t know home anymore once you leave your homeland… unless you move to Toronto.
The diversity and multiculturalism is just the peak of what makes Toronto what it is.

Where else can you eat Chinese at 4 in the morning?
Witness a shirtless Santa working out in public – in winter?
Travel on a ferry to an island for ~$6?
Travel from one end of the city to the other end for only ~$2.75?
Experience sunshine, rainstorms, autumn leaves, SNOW?
Experience sun, rain, and snow AT THE SAME TIME?!
Go to a basketball court, a hockey arena, a soccer stadium, and a football park within minutes of each other?

Let’s not forget our annual events that only(!) TDOT can pull off successfully:
Caribana, The Ex, the Gay Pride parade, Winterlicious, etc.

Toronto’s the biggest and most populated city in Canada. There’s a reason why.

    All Love for T.O.

  17. JFizzle says:

I’ve travelled all over ther world and I’ve taken something from every spot that Ive been to. What I love about Toronto is that it has a little bit of every part of the globe. It like travelling in your own backyard. I always think of Toronto when I’m gone and when I come back it’s the best feeling when the plane touches down and saying Im back in the TDot!. There is no place like T.O.

  18. MadRuk RUIZ says:

It’s easy to tear down and destroy but it’s easier to build and strengthen. It’s your own state of mind that you have to challenge in order to think this way. 1LOVETO understands this. But, if you don’t fully get it yet keep following this site and soon enough, you will ! That’s when 1LOVETO becomes so simple !

It ain’t where your from, it’s where your at and right now I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the world.

    THE CITY IS YOURS

    1LOVE TORONTO !

  19. Reem says:

I’m in Dubai right now and the word “homesickness” is currently synonymous with “Missing T.O.” in my vocabulary.

    Why do I love T.O.?

Because it’s the only place in the world where all my quirky cravings for art, culture and people can be satiated. It’s the city where I can bare my soul and be brazenly unapologetic for who I am.

    Put simply, it’s Home.

  20. Rennaldo says:

    1 LOVE T.O.
    BLUP BLUP
    OWE.

  21. Dubbz says:

Toronto represents many things to many people. To me, it serves as living proof of how people from all walks of live can come together and live amongst one another with no form of indifference. On a “hungry” day, within 15 minutes I can pick up a samosa, a shawarma, a roti, some general tao chicken, souvlaki, a plate of fettucini alfredo, jerk chicken, or a steak. On any given night, I can dance to salsa, house, hip hop, r&b, reggae & soca or go see a live band – possibly go to “Keys ‘n Crates” and do all of the above. We live in a city that caters to the annual attendees of the Chinese Lantern Festival, the Pride Parade & Caribana to name a few and Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindis, Sikhs, Rastafarians, Taoists, Buddhists, Yorubists & Atheists can all freely practice the religion or non-religion.

This is where I was born. This is where I was raised. This is where I live. This is TOronto, with a capital T dot O. 1 Love.

  22. Nic Nik says:

    Great job boys!

This looks amazing Ty and B! What a great and positive way for people of T.O. to come together and see all the talent the city has to offer. No more screw face Toronto… it’s all about the love.

  27. Jenna P says:

First of all, RespecT to the creators for the site, from concept to design, the idea is dope.

1 <3 T.O. is a big concept, there is so much to love about this crazy city we reside in, or close to.
Toronto houses, creates and inspires some of the most creative people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, or have been given the opportunity to follow their work. The opportunities for personal and mental growth through out the city are endless. There are people in Toronto who commit themselves daily to their individual crafts pushing themselves to the limit and as a result motivating those around them to better themselves. I have had the pleasure of working with people dedicated to the mental, phisical, emotional and creative development of themselves and others, its an amazing thing to see and be a part of.

Being the ScrewFace capital of the world has its pro’s and its con’s, the negative connotations make it out to seem like no one can win in Toronto. Contrary to this belief, people in Toronto often thrive off the haterade, to a degree forcing a sense of “put up or shut up” mentality, motivating people to be the best they can be regardless of what others may be thinking or doing.

    So, RESPECT Toronto!
For havin the best, DJ’s, EmCees,B-Boys, B-Girls, Graff Artists, Artist – artists, Poets, Musicians, Teachers, Social workers, Business people, Mothers, Fathers, Sisters and Brothers out there.

  28. Its a bout damn time!!!

U guys are definite role models..
    Keep it up

  29. Rishi says:

I love Toronto because of one thing… the unity. The unity among many races, colours, religions, and views is a dominating theme that keeps me still living here. Toronto, the minor in a major world becoming the major in a minor world. 1 Love T.O.

  30. Lee-Ann M says:

Toronto is an amazing city because it embraces so many different ethnicities!! The various cultures you see, the different ppl you meet introduces you to things you wouldn’t necessarily see in any other city. Festivities such as Caribanna, Gay Pride Parade, Taste of the Danforth etc. demonstrate this on a continuous basis . Congrats to you both for also contributing ;)

  31. Congrats guys!
Glad to see this project finally come to life!

  37. Boss22 says:

After moving from Trinidad to Canada when i was nine years old, Toronto for me was a place full of opportunity and inspiration, now at the age of 24 and living in Oakville, Toronto is still a place for me to come and be inspired and to recharge my batteries, living in the suburbs you are deprived of all the things the city offers on a daily basis. Whether it be being caught up in the energy of the morning and evening commutte, to the small boutiques you can find sprinkled throughout the city to the art galleries and festivals the city has to offer. Toronto for me will always be a place to come to refresh myself and my thoughts.

  38. karmen says:

Great to see the site finally come to life!
Can’t wait to see what big things you have planned for this site!!

    why do I love Toronto?
I love the various “cities” within the city like Little Italy, Chinatown, Greek Town, Little India etc… Where everyone is (for the most part) welcome to learn about the various cultures, taste a whole array of foods and participate in an assortment of non-discriminatory festivals, parties, holidays…
I love how there are *SO* many different places I have yet to discover despite the 26 years I’ve been living here – getting lost is half the fun of it…
I love how each and every single time I go out, even if just to the corner store, I always come back with a story to tell…Toronto is full of quirky, fun and interesting people all with their own stories to tell.
I love (as much as I complain about it) the TTC.
I love how there aren’t that many cookie cutter restaurants. Mmmm food.
I even love the brave raccoons that raid my garbage or the crazy pigeons or the random stray animals that freely roam the streets.
oh, and the pea-meal sandwiches at St. Lawrence market are bomb! ^_^

There’s really no place like Toronto.
    It’s my home :)

  39. Eric says:

I’m a native Torontorian, born and raised, went to highschool, and will return for university. After graduating, although I had wonderful friends, enjoyed the rich, vivid colours of the city, and the almost magical charm of the downtown area (I live on Queen), I began to some despise the city and take its beauty and charm for granted.

I moved to Beijing for two years, and I haven’t been home since. I’m coming home soon, and as I write this I get begin to feel quite homesick. I feel the only way anybody can really appreciate Toronto 200% more, is to leave it and go somewhere else completely different. On an international scale, Toronto is more than just a Northern capital extension of America. It’s an accepting, flavourful, world-class metropolis. Indeed, it is a place where anybody can feel at home. At to me, it’s the only real place I’ve ever really feel at home.

I’m an avid hypebeast and highsnobiety blog reader. I’m very happy to see Toronto will now have it’s own urban, young people culture guide. Toronto has so much happening all the time; I believe a website like this will quickly become very popular and useful to many people.

Here are somethings that I found unique about Toronto, and that none of you living in Toronto should take for granted. Because I’ve been deprived of them! haha.

    - taking the street car to the club and back. no parking, no designated driver, just speed and reliablity
    - korean bbq’s, all star’s chicken wings, indian buffets, chinese dimsum at 4am, eating pho, all blocks apart from each other
    - the crazy kinda nightclubs you can in rap videos, filled with people from all over the world
    - a growing hip hop culture, dance, music, and fashion scene
    - very little racism (don’t take this for granted, people get beat up in some places over that)
    - literally always something to do every weekend

The city has everything I need. I hope this website develops quickly and starts providing local Toronto people will all sorts of useful information to enrich our lives there.

  40. Zandra says:

Love this site! .. but I see people are getting free shirts! lol wheres mine! =[

keep up the great work <3!

    - Zandra

  41. I love Toronto because it has the best night life (where else in the world can you find an 80s jam, soca fete, reggae party and a break dancing battle ALL goin down on the same night).

I love Toronto because it’s the best city in Canada and everybody else thinks we’re arrogant asses because we know it.

Lastly, I love Toronto because Toronto loves me back.

    xo T.O.

  42. Suggestion says:

You should shorten the tagline to “The whole world in one city” or, better yet, “The world in one city.”

Brevity matters — just a thought.

  43. Bryan Brock says:

Thanks for the great suggestion, don’t be surprised if we change it….much appreciated!

    1 LOVE T.O.

  44. Tjs says:

    Toronto… Live in The City

As a new immigrant in Canada, I am seeing TO as a really eclectic city.
I LOVE to think that i’m part of a BIG MULTICULTURAL Community regrouping Toronto and its People.

As a photographer, I’m working on expressing myself and my vision through my observation and interpretation of this beautiful city focusing on you, Toronto’s People.

What I LOVE, his to see people from different backgrounds, different cultures, and different religions.

After all ‘YOU’ are what makes Toronto so special.

    Life is too short

Life is too short, you have to make the most of it
Walk around its kingdom, all through its immensity
Don’t stop where you believe you should
But instead, explore and never fail to remember to Be HAPPY…

First off…Toronto is an amaziinnggg city. For me I would say that toronto being the most multicultural city in the world is what makes me proud to be a torontonian. I notice that almost all the time, the first question you ask someone your meeting for the first time is, ” So whats your background? Where you from?” Everyone takes such an intrest in others whether it be learning a new language, or trying different ethnic foods. You can eat food from anywhere in the world whether it be greek food on the Danforth or indian food on Gerrard. We also have the Harbourfront centre which gives you a chance to explore different cultures through food, song, and dance. Toronto has come so far, and i’m looking forward to seeing our city grow even more. to Tyrronniiiieee(lol) and bryan…you guys are an inspiration to not only myself but mannnyyy others. Keep up the good work:)

Everyone is constantly raising the bar and It wont be long till we are world leaders in most everything :) .. there is nothing stronger than a group of unified people- what gives us the competitive edge is that we are unified because of our diversity.. Where else in the world can you find that?

  64. Maria. says:

Ever since I saw the 1 ♥ T.O. shirts for the first time, I got so excited because I knew it was the beginning of something amazing for Toronto. I’m a very cultural young woman and Toronto is my home, I was born and raised in Trinidad, and come from a mixed background but I consider myself a Torontonian. I live and breathe this city, my love for it is mounting and continues to grow on a daily basis.

Throughout my adolescence I have traveled a lot and I have been exposed to many places around the world and I believe that Canada, and more specifically Toronto, are unique. Here in Toronto we truly celebrate diversity and multiculturalism. Most of us embrace our multicultural makeup, and immigrants are allowed to retain and celebrate their heritage while they start to embrace their new home.

“1 ♥ T.O.” in my opinion, this mindset is so unique and should be recognized around the world. What makes Toronto so unique, in my view, is our multi-ethnic makeup where people from the most diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds co-exist in relative harmony and peace. I really view Toronto as a unique example of tolerance and inclusion, as a model city that could serve as an example for the world.

    One City.
    One Heart.
    1 ♥ T.O.

Just found out about 1LoveT.O. this morning. I appreciate the concept greatly. It’s exciting to see young professionals in the city take a step forward and show the world the strength behind Toronto. Many industries, businesses and people thrive in the city, I hope this website will serve as a platform for them to be showcased. I don’t know the figureheads of your movement personally, but nevertheless I support anything that results in a positive impact on the people AND the city of Toronto.

Keep up the good work. In all my lengthy travels, Toronto is still the greatest city on Earth….

    Hmm..why I love Toronto?
How bout those amazing shuffle parties?
Come on, that has got to win the T-Shirt

  76. MARC MADILSON says:

I LOVE T.O- This is something Toronto needed, there is so much talent in this city that should be on an international scale, Shout out to EveryOne doing something positive on a Grassroots level that one day may become larger than you expected! There is no other place like Toronto…..

P.S. This has been saved to my favourites I suggest you do the same!

    1 Love T.O

  77. T.O. is so full of energy, whether it be negative or positive. All of that contributes to what makes the city go. If there were no negative people, there might not be anything to inspire the positive ones. There’s also so much creativity it blows my mind and the support is amazing. i can tell im going to love this site already.

  78. TEAMROCKET says:

The feeling in the city’s amazing. Born in Toronto, but I live in Brampton now.
But.. everytime I come back to the city, I can feel the energy. It’s hard to describe but anyone from the city knows exactly what I’m talking about. And now with Drake blowin’ up, his buzz is gonna add to that buzz, that energy in the city.
I just wanna put on for my city, and try to keep that energy alive in Brampton.

    Plus, my birthday’s tomorrow.

  79. 1 reason would have to be Caribana and how people all over the world come out to see what its about

  80. Vee says:

Congratulations on continuously articulating how truly unique Toronto is in its own right.

    It’s a beautiful thing.

I am so proud of you both!! From Remix to Nostalgia to Tribute to Shuffle to Concrete Hoops..I could go on..but you guys really are the epitome of hard work, determination, discipline and success. I don’t know anyone else who has a vested such a tremenous interest in the diversity of this city like you both do. You have even pushed the movement worldwide in Brazil and Africa! I wish you guys nothing but success from here on out. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for the summer! I’m sure it’s nothing but greatness! Luv you guys, xoxo 1 Love T.O.

  83. JAFF says:

I LOVE T.O. and T.O. LOVES ME…and I’m lovin’ this site still…keep up the GREAT work!!! cause if you ain’t from here, then most peoples just don’t get it..hopefully this site will help spread the word on what’s really good with Toronto!

forget the screwface capital…even the F.U. PAY ME thing…(don’t get me wrong, i’m bout my paper too!)…but 1 LOVE T.O. is a dope concept and i think its madd reflective of the vibe here, and true to whats going on in the community right now…even though it wasn’t always that way, but now people are finally starting to get that in order to rise up we need to stick together to get ish done…and we’ll all benefit from it…as opposed to everyone lookin’ out for themselves and getting nowhere…its about time we put on for our city, and this is a great example, for real…Toronto is the ish and now we can let the world know…ya feel me!!!

see ya at the next shuffle guys…peace and 1 LOVE T.O.

    Yours 2 Discover,
    JAFF.

toronto is the place to be in canada and there is so much oportunity here for our young people, and they truly have the chance to chase their real dreams , right here in our own country!!!!!

  85. Ace Six says:

congrats. this site looks way better on a computer than on my old ass BB.

I have to admit I still like our cynical, sense of never giving anything props vibe that I grew up with but I like positive encouragement and growth even more..

This is the same city that rushed the stage at a biggie show, beat him up and stole the equipment, booed craig mack off stage, beat up redman and keith murray, and threw bottles at jdavey. haha, I love TO too but some things might never change.

  86. che says:

ONE LOVE TORONTO. ONE LOVE WORLDWIDE.

    MAXIMUM RESPECT.

  87. Kesing S says:

Honestly I am sooooooooooooooooo proud right now. I feel like toronto harnesses the most undiscovered TALENTED and BEAUTIFUL people in the world and I can feel the change happenin’…people are slowly catching up to what we torontonians were already aware of. I feel like the confidence in our city is growing…we are realizing that the world is truly accessible in our backyards..and there is truly no place like “our home”!!!

Tyrone and Brock…you guys and your TEAM are truly amazing!!! I can’t even begin to explain what a site like this subconsciously does!! U guys are INSPIRATIONAL..ur movement is commendable and you guys continue to be a benchmark/staple in T.O.

    Trey I loved ur comment!!!

Where else can a half Portuguese – half Vincentian, a half Persian – half Jamaican and a half Serbian – half African cross paths and develop an unbreakable bond? Only in Toronto!!! Despite its noted shortcomings, Toronto is an incredible city, with even more incredible people and as such, deserves all of the recognition it receives. Tyrone, Brock, The Remix Project and everyone involved in this imitative; congratulations and keep elevating our city!!

    Bless,
    Nekita

just wanted to share a recent brief conversation with you all… as to why t.o. is really the best place on earth.

so the other day i’m having a conversation with my dear friend t-rexxx… and he ask’s me:

    t. what are you mixed with?

me. half jamaican and half inuit

    t. and you were born here?

    me. yup.. born and raised.

    t. awesome.. and your kids? where is their dad from?

    me. oh.. he’s filipino.

    t. so.. they’re 1/4 jamaican, 1/4 inuit and half filipino??? AMAZING!!!! only in toronto! 1 LOVE T.O.!!!!

again.. these are things you would truly only find in our beautiful city that is filled with such culture and diversity. toronto really is a map of diference brought together by love, unity, respect and everyone’s own unique story.
